Green Roof Tile

Two entrepreneurial college students had an idea for better green roof technology, they asked 2B Studio to design a unique modular system that launched their green business. The modular systems consist of several distinct components, the growing tray, the biodegradable extension frame, the subsurface irrigation mat and angled roof support panels used on sloped roofs.

The Advanced Green Roof system is the first roof growing system with subsurface irrigation, distributing water evenly across the roof topography. The biodegradable shell provides support for the establishment of deeper root systems. Designing a product which was both cost-effective and that stood true to the project’s sustainable commitment exceeded current competition and maximized every green roof benefit.
